Vice President of Marketing

Through skill-building workshops, professional speakers, and networking events, Women in Business (WIB) enables women to excel by giving women the resources and the opportunities to network successfully in the professional world while building long-lasting, supportive relationships with other UO students. Provoking thought and facilitating intentional exercises in a low risk and supportive environment will help WIB members break boundaries within themselves and the greater business world.

What You’ll Do

  • Head big-picture campaigning and strategy 

  • Oversee the marketing department (team of 5-6 people)

  • Design quarterly campaign calendars for the marketing department to execute that will include initiatives for the Instagram, website, and emails

  • Responsible for updating the branding packet annually

  • Step in creatively when needed

Who You Are 

  • Open to all majors, strong academic qualifications

  • Regular attendee of WIB events (weekly meetings, networking events, socials, etc.)

  • Passion for women empowerment and academic / professional development 

  • Experience with creative tools, such as Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, or other similar platforms

  • Experience with social tools (Instagram, Blogs, Website, and LinkedIn)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively manage a team of fellow students

  • Ability to prioritize between short-term demands and long-term needs 

Ideal Qualifications

  • Visual ‘eye’ and creative flair with regard to marketing and branding ideas 

  • Strong discernment and the ability to understand the needs of different audiences (e.g. students (upper versus lower classman), professionals, alumni, etc.)

  • Excellent teammate, who values other views and can earn partner confidence quickly

  • Passion for the marketing sector; relevant aspirations for a future marketing career
