Through skill-building workshops, professional speakers, and networking events, Women in Business (WIB) enables women to excel by giving women the resources and the opportunities to network successfully in the professional world while building long-lasting, supportive relationships with other UO students. Provoking thought and facilitating intentional exercises in a low-risk and supportive environment will help WIB members break boundaries within themselves and the greater business world.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategizes the overall club direction and purpose to carry out WIB’s mission and values

  • Oversee and support the fellow Executive Board members by facilitating a positive and inclusive environment for proper collaboration

  • Be the main contact for all professional communication, including potential speakers and faculty 

  • Represent the club well always, especially in the community and during University functions

  • Ensure weekly executive meetings run smoothly, work individually with each team member to attain goals and maximize leadership opportunities for the board 

  • Facilitate conflict management across the board and take action when necessary 

  • Attend weekly DCICC (Deans Council for Inter-Club Coordination) meetings

  • Works closely with VP of Programming

Who You Are

  • Open to all majors, strong academic qualifications

  • 2+ years into academic studies

  • Regular attendee of WIB events (weekly meetings, networking events, socials, etc.)

  • Passion for women empowerment and academic / professional development 

  • Strong team building and project management skills

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with both professionals and fellow students 


Ideal Qualifications

  • Previously served on the WIB Executive Board

  • Abundant connections in the professional space

  • Preferability Junior Standing

  • Comfortable with LinkedIn
